Everyone put on a white robe and followed the instructor entering the laboratory for the "make your own blend" journey.

The laboratory can accommodate up to twelve people to make the blend at the same time.

Everyone has a set of apparatus for the wine blending.

First of all, the instructor showed every body three different red wines made from Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro, everyone tasted and tried to pick up different characteristics of each wine. Everyone blended these three red wines with different percentages, tasted and fine tuned them repeatedly and made a final decision on which was the best to their palates. Everyone was then adding the required volumes based on the final decision to make up a 400ml bottle of their own red wine, and this was the final product that was ready to bring home.

Every body foucus on the wine blending.

It was lucky that we could come here in weekday such that it was not crowded. Four of us occupied the whole laboratory for the wine blending, we applied our theories to practice and had a good understanding of the workflow of the winemakers. Acutally everyone had an unforgettable moment on the day.

GRANGE is the flagship product of PENFOLDS WINES, it was first made by winemaker Max Schubert mainly from the Shiraz grape in 1951 for experimental purpose. This wine was in production from 1952 with the name "Penfolds Grange Hermitage" until 1989, it was then named "Penfolds Grange" till now.

Penfolds Grange is now an Australian icon, it represents a success of the Australian winemaking industry and has maintained its place as Australia's most prestigious red wine over fifty years.
